  • MIT ID Innovation Program is a 1-year (PG Diploma) Full time residential program for self-driven and passionate individuals who aspire to create innovative products, services and businesses for today’s and future world.

In case there are any vacant seats in a particular discipline it will be transferred to other disciplines where there are more candidates in waiting list.
Intake for NRI, PIO, OCI & International students will be maximum 10 % over and above of regular intake
Rules of reservations apply as per the prevalent Government of Maharashtra directives.

    Application Process :MIT DAT (Design Aptitude Test)

    MIT DAT is a common entrance exam for admissions in Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and Master of Design (M.Des) programmes at MIT Institute of Design Pune, Avantika University Ujjain and MIT University Shillong.

    The second round will be conducted separately by each institute as per their merit list of shortlisted candidates.

    Step 1: Register for MIT DAT with your email id and mobile number on (

    Step 2: An automated verification link will be sent to your registered email ID. Activate your account by clicking the link.

    Step 3 : Provide the required details in the application form & upload the necessary documents.

    Step 4: Accept the declaration and submit the online application form.

    Step 5: Proceed to payment option and pay ₹3000 for Indian applicants and ₹4500 for NRI, PIO, OCI & Foreign Nationals.

    Step 6: On scrutiny, verification and acceptance of application form, Admit card will be generated and sent to candidates registered email id.

    Candidates can also download the Admit Card by login to his/her profile on DAT portal.

    • MIT DAT (MIT Design Aptitude Test) 2022, is conducted jointly for admissions of B.Des & M.Des programs at MIT Institute of Design (MIT ID) Pune, Avantika University Ujjain & MIT University Shillong.

    Last date for submission of application form is 28th February 2022.

    * The candidates applying under reserved category have to upload applicable documents for consideration of their candidature under the reserved category.
    If the candidate fails to upload the applicable documents before the last date of application his / her candidature will be considered under General Open Category.

    Social and Vertical Reservation :

    Rules of reservations apply as per the prevalent Government of Maharashtra directives.

    Maximum Social or vertical reservation will be up to 50% only and additional 10% for EWS.

    *Kindly Note: Category wise reservations is applicable for Maharashtra state candidates only. EWS reservation is applicable to all.

    All Other than Maharashtra candidates except EWS will be considered under OMS General Open category.

    Apart from the above reservations, there will be parallel reservations for Son/Daughter of Defence Service Personnel.

    Five percent seats of the total sanctioned intake of the institute shall be reserved for children of ex-service personnel and active service personnel who are domiciled in Maharashtra and of active service personnel, who are not domiciled in Maharashtra but are transferred to Maharashtra.

    Provided that such candidate should have appeared and passed the HSC examination from the school situated in Maharashtra. For claiming the reservation for Defence quota candidate has to submit certificate issued by concerned authority before the deadline.

    The Candidates appearing for the 12th Std / final year graduation (applicable for candidates applying for M.Des) or equivalent examination are not required to submit 12th / final year graduation Mark sheet, however the admission will be confirmed to selected candidates only on clearing the 12th std / final year graduation.

    The incomplete application forms / not satisfying eligibility criteria will be rejected. The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) fees for such rejected applications will not be refunded.

    No official communication will be made regarding rejected application forms.

    Admission is on the basis of MITID method of selection, which extends beyond the student’s previous academic qualifications. The MITID Admission Committee systematically seeks evidence of the perception, attitude, aptitude, achievement and motivation essential for a challenging and satisfying design career. The objective of the tests and the interviews is to ascertain the above qualities.

    The admission process is in two phases :

    Phase - 1: MIT DAT (Design Aptitude Test) conducted at various centres across the country.
    MITID reserves its right to change or cancel any of these centres.
    Based on scores obtained from DAT, shortlisted candidates will be called for second phase.

    Phase – 2: Studio Test and Personal Interview at MITID campus in Pune.
    The second phase of the admission procedure will consist of studio tests followed by personal interviews at Institute in Pune.
    The result of shortlisted candidates for the Second Phase will be announced on MITID website.

    No separate call letters will be sent to the shortlisted candidates. All those candidates called for the second phase are required to attend the studio tests and interview, which completes the process of selection.

    The Admission Committee decides the procedures, grades and weightage every year.

    The norms for the selection are the sole prerogative of the Admission Committee and the decision of the Admission Committee and the Management in any of the matters concerning the admission process and selection will be final. Any direct or indirect attempt to influence the admission committee or its members, academic office bearers or management will lead to the automatic disqualification of the candidate(s).
